Before the revelation comes the preparation.
Before the voice speaks, silence listens.
Before resurrection, there is purification.
John the Baptist stands at one of the great thresholds of the spiritual journey. He emerges from the wilderness clothed in simplicity, living close to the rhythms of the Earth, the waters, the moon, and the voice of the Divine. He is a bridge between worlds, a keeper of sacred thresholds, and one who prepares the way for a greater revelation.
In this novena, we will contemplate John not only as a historical figure, prophet, or saint, but as an archetypal presence and cosmic force that lives within the human soul. John the Baptist represents The Shamanic Lunar Masculine — the aspect of consciousness that dwells beneath the wells, listens to the hidden currents, serves the Feminine, and prepares the way for a greater revelation to emerge.
While Yeshua embodies the Solar Masculine—the radiant expression of Divine Consciousness made visible—John embodies the Shamanic Lunar Masculine serves the mysteries that are still hidden beneath the surface of life. It dwells beneath the wells of wisdom, listening for the movements of the unseen, preparing the ground for what seeks to be born.
The purpose of the Shamanic Lunar Masculine is not self-glorification but sacred service. It does not seek to possess the Feminine, control her, or stand before her. Rather, it creates the conditions through which the Feminine may fully emerge, reveal herself, and bring forth life. It protects the sacred waters, guards the threshold, and remains faithful to the process of becoming.
John embodies this mystery. He stands at the river, preparing hearts, purifying vessels, and making ready the way. He understands that his role is not to become the revelation, but to recognize it, honor it, and create space for it to unfold. In this way, the Shamanic Lunar Masculine becomes the devoted servant of life itself. It bows before the mystery, prepares the temple, and allows the hidden seed of Divine Consciousness to blossom into its fullest expression.
the ability to prepare the way for something greater than ourselves. To serve the emergence of the soul. To create space for wisdom, love, beauty, truth, and Divine Presence to be exalted and made visible in the world.
The soul must first become available. It must become empty enough to receive, humble enough to listen, and courageous enough to say yes to the path before it fully understands where the path is leading. John therefore becomes much more than a biblical figure. He is a living archetype and a cosmic intelligence that can be awakened within each of us.
As we journey through these nine days together, we will explore the wilderness as a place of revelation, the waters as a place of purification, and the sacred art of preparation as a spiritual practice. We will learn from John’s devotion, his courage, his simplicity, and his unwavering commitment to the Divine Call.
Every soul must hear the call.
Every soul must learn to listen beneath the wells.
And every soul must choose whether it is willing to prepare the way.
May these nine days open within you a deeper capacity for listening, a deeper trust in the sacred unfolding of your life, and a deeper relationship with the Divine Presence that is already calling you forward.
